The group meets at OR Tambo international airport from various destinations in South Africa. Your Tour Director will greet you with a warm welcome and introduce everyone. You board an overnight flight to Paris.
Day 1 – Arrival and orientation
You arrive in Paris in the morning and the shuttle will take the group to the hotel for check in and refresh and rest after the long journey. Those who feel strong can stroll in the neighbourhood at leisure. The Tour Director will suggest nearby restaurants for the travellers to grab lunch.
In the evening, the group will meet for an early welcome dinner. Here the Tour Director will review the daily schedule and any changes, discuss responsibilities, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer any questions that may arise.
Day 2 – Paris in One Day Sightseeing Tour
You will meet with a local guide in central Paris and then begin your tour at the Louvre Museum, regarded as one of the finest gallery collections in the world. Here you will get a front-row peek at world-famous treasures like the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo.
After marvelling at the glorious art, your next adventure will be to hop a boat to cruise the Seine River toward another iconic Paris site, the Eiffel Tower. Here you will climb the world famous Tower to the 58 Tower Eiffel restaurant which is inside the tour, where you will have French lunch while enjoying panoramic views of the city of lights.
After enjoying the glorious views from the Eiffel Tour, you will head to the water a second time for another scenic boat ride, this time headed to the Île de la Cité. When it reopens, you’ll visit Notre-Dame Cathedral Square and hear about the building’s incredible history.
You will have the afternoon and evening to yourself to enjoy this beautiful city on your own.
Day 3 – Palace of Versailles and Giverny Day Trip from Paris with Lunch
This day will be an opportunity to leave the bustle of the city for a short while. You will leave Paris for a full-day tour of two of the most popular day trip destinations outside the French capital – Palace of Versailles and Monet’s garden in Giverny.
The first stop will be Giverny, where Impressionist master Claude Monet lived and get to walk across the Japanese bridge and gaze upon the water lily pond while you stroll the gardens that surround this beautiful home.
After a guided tour of Monet’s gardens, it’s time for a hearty lunch at the Moulin de Fourges. After lunch, you will continue your tour by coach to Versailles.
On your guided tour, you will get to enjoy the opulent décor at the Palace of Versailles, including the Hall of Mirrors and the royal Grand Apartments. You will then enjoy some free time in the Versailles Gardens and wander among the groves, sculptures, and fountains before your trip concludes with travel back to Paris.
The evening will be for your own leisure.
Day 4 – hop on hop off tour bus
This day is an opportunity to explore the city on your own. You begin your tour at a conveniently located bus stop near to your hotel and get to explore the spectacular sights of Paris on your own and at your own pace. You will use your 1 day ticket on any of the routes covered by the tour. The Blue route covers iconic attractions like the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum, the Arc de Triumph and the Eiffel Tour, while the Red route and see elaborate structures like the Gare du Nord, Gare de l’Est and Grands Boulevards. Each route lasts between 1 and 2 hours and buses depart every 10, 15, 20, 25 or 35 minutes depending on the route selected.
Day 5 – Montmartre, Sacre Coeur and Seine river cruise
This morning you will start with a guided walking tour of the historic Montmartre and Sacre Coeur. You will delve into Paris’s bohemian history with this 2-hyourMontmartre walking tour with a knowledgeable local guide, where you get to stroll down cobblestone streets past the Moulin Rouge and other former haunts of famous artists and writers. You will see where Vincent van Gogh used to live, and visit the grave of Edgar Degas and other artists at the Montmartre Cemetery. The final stop of the tour will see you take in some of the best views in Paris from the steps of the splendid Sacré Coeur Basilica.’
After taking in all the magnificent views, you will spend the afternoon embarking on a culinary tour of Paris’s Montmartre. You will sample delicacies like croissants and éclairs at a local patisserie, enjoy a guided tasting of various cheeses at a fromagerie and satisfy yoursuset tooth at a classic chocolaterie. You will then stop at a boulangerie, where you will get a chance to learn the proper way to eat a baguette.
You will spend the evening enjoying an enchanting evening in the most romantic city on earth on this tour that combines a Seine River cruise, coach tour and a 3-course dinner. You will admire the famous sights like Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tower under the glorious dark Paris sky. You will experience the city all lit up, followed by a late dinner at a restaurant near Paris’ iconic Champs-Elysees.
Day 6 – Arc de Triomphe Guided Tour and shopping
This morning you will do the Arc de Triomphe Guided Tour and Climb. You get the inside story of one of Paris’s most iconic monuments. The tour gives you an opportunity to learn how the design was conceived by Napoleon as a monument to French soldiers and military victories, and hear the many legends surrounding the arch’s eternal flame and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I. After this exciting history lesson, you will climb 40 steps to reach the top, where you can look down the grand Champs-Élysées boulevard.
The afternoon and evening is dedicated to shopping at your own pace, starting at Champs-Élysées before moving to Rue de Rivolli.
You will continue your shopping in the evening at Galeries Lafayette Paris before enjoying a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant to toast to your unforgettable week.
Day 7 – Departure
You enjoy free morning before the departure. You will be transferred to the airport by a shuttle to catch your evening flights.
